ISTE NETS Standards for Teachers

Using Prezi in the classroom meets several of the ISTE Standards. Using a Prezi meets Standard 1 by demonstrating knowledge of the technology and the use of current and emerging devices in the classroom. A teacher could use a Prezi in any content area. The use of new technology in the classroom can enhance learning ability, Standard 3A,D. Students may see the "hum-drum" content as exciting and new if displayed in a different contexts, Standard 3C. Classrooms are very diverse; adding technology is like putting a glove on a hand, Standard 2A. Using Prezis in classrooms can display teachers ability to use different technological tools to teach and assess. A teacher could have her class create Prezis instead of posters and present them to the class, Standard 2, 3, and 4. A teacher who is willing to try and use new technology will never be shuned. Learning new technology,techniques or information will always be encouraged for personal growth, Standard 5A,C. It is important to understand technology and relate the use of technology in classrooms. Ethical, moral and legal issues with technology needs to be examined before it is used in the classroom, Standard 6A,D, and E.
